calming those who are afraid

Syuaib (peace be upon him) said to Musa (peace be upon him): "Do not be afraid. You are now safe from the wrongdoing people." (Qur'an, Al-Qashash: 25)

The angels said: "Do not be afraid. We are indeed the messengers sent to the people of Luth." (Qur'an, Hud: 70)

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, when returning from a journey on Abu Thalhah's horse, said: "You do not need to be afraid." (Hadith, HR. Al-Bukhari 290 and Muslim 2307, from Anas bin Malik)

Telling good news and helping calm someone who is scared is an act of ihsan (doing good).
