don't assume what you should know

Allah says: Do not follow what you have no knowledge about. Hearing, sight, and heart will all be asked about (Al-Israa: 36).

Also: Satan only tells you to do evil and to say about Allah what you do not know (Al-Baqarah: 169).

And: When told "Allah’s promise is true and the Last Day has no doubt", some will say "We do not know about the Last Day, we only guess and are not sure" (Al-Jatsiyah: 36).

Guessing in matters you must know is not enough, because it can be wrong. It is not allowed to say Allah has flaws or to claim things against His attributes. People who believe will not say such things.

The same applies to guessing in matters of religion. If Allah decides something different from what you think is reality, it is still right and not a flaw. But saying Allah has flaws denies His greatness.

That is why religion teaches respect and love for Allah based on certainty, not assumption.
