Prayer for those who do wrong

Yusuf said: “today there’s no blame on you. may Allah forgive you. He is the Most Merciful of the merciful.” (Yusuf: 92)

He also said: “I won’t ask forgiveness for you from my Lord right now. but truly He is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Yusuf: 98)

The Prophet ﷺ told a story. A prophet was attacked by his people. They hit him until his face bled. He wiped the blood and said, “O Allah, forgive my people. they just don’t know.”

simple and useful meaning: if someone’s close to God, even when they’re hurt, they still pray for the one who hurt them.
